EA couldn’t hit a deadline if it jumped up and kicked them in the balls

Well… Where to begin? EA, I need not say any more! The new sequel to the popular C&C RTS game C&C 3 Tiberium Wars came out on the 28th of March 2007, and it was “decided by EA” to release the world builder in “early April”. Well, its the 8th April and we are all getting bored to piss waiting for the world builder and some custom maps. Still no World builder.

C&C 3 World Builder Suxxage!

Worldbuilder for Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars is the toolset that the game’s designers used to create all of the single-player missions and multiplayer maps, and we’re making it available to our player community. Worldbuilder will be available right here for direct download in early April after the game is launched.

Given that they use ASPX Server Extensions on their website, it’s not surprising they are lame. What is a surprise to me is, that they were able to complete the game without more than 2 or 3 delays. That’s shocking. Well done EA. To make matters more painful EA claim this is to “avoid having to update it later”. Well, the game has already been updated multiple times’ I can’t see why anyone could be upset by it including a revision of the world builder pack, even if it’s beta?? No that wouldn’t cause a problem would it. You have to ask why they didn’t as their “excuse” encompasses the reason that it was clearly done as a result of not wanting to issue the world builder with the RTM (retail).

SIGH. But I do love this game.

:)

When EA Finally decide to “get their freak on” you’ll find the world builder in “early april” here

Zone Alarm Create Hardware Wireless Router Firewall/VPN/Antivirus Home Router

My friends from zonelabs have developed a new product they call the Z100G, I’m a frequent visiter to their blog and just spotted it, they only announced it yesterday so its still pretty hot of the shelf.  Zonelabs Z100G is sure to be a success!

The Z100G in all its glory:

z100g router

This device is a real machine — especially compared with some of the other wireless routers passing as firewalls out there today:

  • Concurrent Firewall Connections: 4,000
  • Gateway Antivirus
  • Secure Remote Access to Home PCs
  • 2 USB ports
  • Check Point SecuRemoteâ„¢ VPN client
  • Print Server
  • Real-deal logging and reporting
  • VStream Gateway Antivirus - real-time scanning
  • Check Point Patented Stateful Inspection Firewall
  • Bandwidth Management
  • Monthly Security Report

Kudos to ZoneLabs for investing in some slightly new direction (for them) hardware :-)

[original article here...]
Best of luck to my favourite company Zone Alarm for creating this fantastic Z100G Router. The Z100G Router by Zonelabs will most definately be a success in the homes of the amateur to mediocre user or even high level users may find the Z100G useful. For reliable hardware security, without the fuss of a computer-hardware firewall, I think this really does have some potential.

I cured my migraine with a pc speaker, and now I’m well enough to tell you!

And Introduction to living with migraines
I have suffered from chronic migraines ever since I was a young child, occassionally I get the occassional migraine marathon and can be dehabilitated for days or even weeks, but mostly 4 - 5 hours or so in a dark room, away from sound, light sources and heat, really does the job. So today, when I got a splitting one, I decided that I was going to try and fix it, anyway, I possibly could at my disposal. I lay on the bed streaming for ideas, as my head ached the further that I thought, I wondered what would have an influence on my migraine , as much, or better than my medical prescription sumitrupan succinate (also known as immigram in the UK by GSK). There wasn’t much available short of a bunch of PC’s, an air conditioner, and a great deal of electronic equipment that wouldn’t be doing me any favours in a hurry.

The Find of a Migraine!
So, I lay there for a while thinking what could have an affect on the blood in the brain  (much like immigram works)… So… I look accross the room at a pc speaker, and think. nawwwwwww. That wouldn’t work. A regular PC speaker, with a fairly strong magnet which would all in all stick fast to the side of a fridge, so not the worlds most strongest, but certainly as strong as or stronger than those crappy little armbands that i’ll never touch. So I proceeded to disconnect the wires from my newly found prize so that I was left with the speaker and the magnet only (all in once peice but the wire). And placed it directly on my head, it was very cold, and that did help of course.. but not a lot. When it began to get warm, I picked it up with my left hand and helf it in my hand by the rim of the speaker, with the magnet facing away, after only 20 or 30 seconds my arm began to become weak, and  I thought , gee this is strange I’m not meant to believe in all that crap, im a technician. So as a control, I placed the speaker down , rested my arm and then proceeded to put it back exactly how it was when it began to sorta hurt (like all the muscles were twitching). Nothing.. to my surprise I put the speaker back in my left hand in the same configuration, within a few seconds it began to hurt, and I was pretty surprised by this. The way my headache feels is sortof “clockwise”, if your a migraine sufferer you might know what I mean, the pain sorta shoots around in a circle and works its way across the left of my head an arc over my forehead and down into my eye (sortof a spiral). I found that waving this fair magnet over my left head where my head hurt really didnt help so good when moving it clockwise, so I tried anti-clockwise..

yoga
figure 1.1 what could the magnet have done to this?
This might sound a bit strange, but this was of course purely on instinct, and , it seemed to work, very well infact that my migraine went within about 25 minutes, as fast or faster than medically effective drugs that I have been prescribed to take for this. Before I wrote this article I had a little search on digg , google, reddit and the usual, it seems like a few people have already discovered this amazing little idea/evidence/scienceifyouwill , and I feel suitably validated, and extremely relieved to be able to write this article saying

This could be a Placebo, but it worked for me, and seems documented elsewhere, time for me to make a migraine buster prototype, ahhhh another great project!

Read into this little gem as much as you like, but if you suffer from migraines, and don’t mind putting a pc speaker to your head and looking like a moron, then thats your doosy to migraine mishap medical magica because it certainly worked, and I think, will work again!

Amazing: Blind Teenager Kicks Ass at football and computer games, better than some

How this can be, I can only speculate on, to be scientific about this would seem like a good idea at first (radar detection etc , etc), but truly, this is a question of something beyond normal science, where attitude and idealogy may mean everything.

“This video is about a blind teenager that has overome many obstacles. He can whoop ass at video games, rollerblade, and move out of the way of objects before he touches them… awesome!!”
Checkout this truly fascinating video story just below:

Kudos to you my friend! I hope he remembers, “I have eyes but I do not really see”, because this is like “I can see” - “seeing” is a “sense”. :) Its great. Super Kudos to the blind guy! What I’m saying here is that there is a lot to learn from the philosophy of the self, in software development and design aswell. “Je ne sais quoi” comes from somewhere, and It’s probably from the thing we call persona.

Draft: Google has been Ruined? I refuse to believe it.

http://www.google.co.uk/ig?hl=en

Hello azio.org readers. A lot of us will remember how google has remained, in essence, 75% the same over what must be almost a decade now. Recently something bad has happened, google.com has turned into yahoo.com

I personally feel, along with the masses of people with a clue, that this is unncessary on google’s behalf. There is No competition here. Right?

Has google lost its simplicity and ease of use with commercial bloatism? I , and I dont usually swear on my blog, farking hope not.

An update coming soon.

NEW Gadget: MicroMoscito Helicopter takes to the skies!!

Hahahaha, nice one. This is one of those toys that only 30 somethings only can dream about having. Check the picture below and the youtube link ive embedded!

Micro Mosquito

The landing pad charging station introduces an element of challenge to wannabe pilots, being as it is not much greater in diameter than the stretch of the helicopter’s legs. If you can manage to get it hovering in front of your eyes, then you can even see the internals working thanks to the open bodywork.

Who made it?

GoogleWhack Adventure - by Dave Gorman

Well, I’ve just had myself away from the PC for at least a few hours, (thats a bloody eternity for me) , omg users might need support or something! Yes , I know. Well, I just watched GoogleWhack adventure by Dave Gorman, I missed most of it, but the last hour or so was hillarious, I even sat down away from a computer which was a first for the last few weeks. This guy is truly hillarious, he’s about as technical as a bedpost, but does well with his extremely methodical and interestingly clever social indinuity, maybe I’m over analysing, i’m not the best of comedian’s, oh wait, im not one at all. :)

I highly recommend getting hold of the video or watching it on Paramount Comedy sometime like I did, he’s a truly truly funny man, and (although the video isnt life changing, no offence Dave!), I know what its like to be a googlewhack.
Observations

  1. Dave appears to have been the “only person with a googlewhack to actually make the best of it in the biggest way yet”.
  2. Dave appears to have little technical skill (oh no offence dave i love ya!), yet provided the best SEO he will ever have. Being number 3 on google for “Google Whack”, hell how many hits do you think that is? A lot.. Comments please :)
  3. Dave is an extremely intelligent person (in my opinion), he seems to use his and others projected disadvantages to his advantage. Sound plan. Works.

About Me

I am a young Jazz musician who likes to spend time on quests for knowledge, no particular quests, but any that would take my fancy; it is perhaps considered ignorant or “that crazy freethinking thing”. To me i might see a life to the ignorance of order but it is the order of ourselves with implicates any truth among us.

I’m Technical Director, Shareholder and board member of a company called Game-Zero LTD, aswell as freelance IT consultant. I also founded a company called Tritana Technologies that did R&D scientific research in thermal dynamics and thermal dynamics engines, written in C++ and other similar endeavours, aswell as a Game Service Provider (GSP) called teamlag.net. Computing changes so fast, nobody can keep up with it, people like me are just whistle blowers, not in the sense that theres an alien conspiracy or anything! Just in the sense that we are the ultimate users in technology, all of us are and that should be made use of, and not ignored. I work in the IT industry and consider myself a slight radical, nobody is going to tell me what to do, but it doesnt mean I cant pay good attention to what they have to say. :)
